When I was a young teenager I tried to learn tennis. I guess my heart never was in it passionately because I gravitated to golf, so tennis is a long forgotten sport for me. For my sister it was huge and I have friends who still play. My home is in the Crow Canyon Country Club where I golf with friends twice a week but never have I had an interest in the tennis side of life here.
One Saturday morning I found myself checking out what tennis life at Crow Canyon is all about. I found this foursome of fit women, all seemingly pretty serious, whacking the ball, running, contorting and generally, having a great tennis workout. I’m not sure my bad knee could handle that for long so I’m sticking with golf.
This week I’m in Victoria, Canada. Never been here before. Mai and I are staying with a friend who is an artist here and has a lovely home on a quiet street in this friendly town. Our friend has just finished building a cabin on thetis, one of the Islands nearby. So today our plans are to take a ferry and go explore the island. It’s a sunny clear day today so I’m really looking forward to the adventure.
